Atlas of the Breeding Birds of British Columbia - This Atlas is the single most comprehensive, current information source on the status of British Columbia’s breeding birds. More than 630,000 records of 320 species are available in this database, and the entire contents―maps, species accounts, graphs, tables, raw data, and more―are available to everyone free of charge through their website.
Birds Canada - Birds Canada is the country’s only national organization dedicated to bird conservation. Their mission: drive action to increase the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of birds in Canada.
CornellLab - Operated through Cornell University, their stated mission is to interpret and conserve the Earth’s biological diversity through research, education, and citizen science focused on birds and nature. This is an amazingly interesting and informative website, and home of the famous Merlin app.
Merlin Mobile Phone App - Answer three simple questions about a bird you are trying to identify and Merlin will give you a list of possible matches. Merlin offers quick identification help for all levels of bird watchers and out. Further details and link to app here.
eBird - eBird is among the world’s largest biodiversity-related science projects, with more than 100 million bird sightings contributed annually by eBirders around the world. Their goal is to gather this information in the form of checklists of birds, archive it, and freely share it to power new data-driven approaches to science, conservation and education. Boreal Avian Modelling Project - The Boreal Avian Modelling Project is an international scientific collaboration that develops and disseminates reliable, data-driven and model-based science and products to support migratory bird management and conservation across the boreal region of North America.

BC Reptiles & Amphibians - BC’s new BC Reptiles & Amphibians website features our provincial reptiles and amphibians. This project was lead by Thompson Rivers University in partnership with the Province of BC (Conservation Science Section).
